Welcome to my portfolio webpage SANSEVEN.
Initially I started constructing an online portfolio because my art teacher said if we wanted to apply for art-courses at universities, they would want a folder of some of our artwork accompanying the application. That was when my 17-year-old self thought `Why not make a website? This way I won´t have to send over originals, plus the people responsible for the application process will be able to see all of my artwork and not just part of it.´ I had no knowledge of web design – much less coding – whatsoever and during a two week break I sat down every day, watched tutorials and constructed the very first version of this website. Ever since, I continued to work on it – adding new categories, redesigning parts or even the whole look of the pages as well as updating the newest pictures and artworks as the years passed.
Still, until this day the motivation behind this website remains the same:
1. Becoming better at the things I already know how to do.
2. Learning new things.
3. Setting goals that at first seem unrealistic but with time, discipline and enough motivation step for step come within reach.
Education
Besides learning how to use HTML- and CSS-code to create a website that looks (but not always functions) the way I want it to, my interests (some might call it curiosity) have led me to study a diverse collection of fields:
I attended courses in Theatre-, Film- and Media-Science, Criminal Law and Romance Languages to improve my Spanish and French. All the while my constant remained the interest for human behaviour, the human mind as well as the intra- and interindividual differences regarding personality. I hold a Master of Science in Psychology, having investigated the influence of personality and colour-preference on the association between emotions and colours in the context of my master thesis. Following up on that, I am currently pursuing a Master of Art in Art – Media – Cultural Education as an addition to my psychological qualification.
Work
Freelancing Lecturer & Corrector
Aside from being a student, since 2018 I have been freelancing in editorial and design related areas – for publishing houses and freelancing editors. My area of responsibility includes the linguistic assessment of specialist and advertising texts, which I check for spelling as well as grammatical errors, and I assess texts on the content level, editing to improve the reading flow. Due to my many years of professional experience as a freelance proofreader and editor (linguistic assessment), I know what is important from a linguistic perspective when working with texts. Experienced in making efficient corrections, I can jump into action flexibly and fulfill orders tailored to the requirements.
Freelancing Graphic Designer
In April of 2024 I became a certified graphic designer. My focus lies on designing book covers and providing accompanying advertising materials for use in image campaigns on various advertising channels (e.g. social media, newsletter). In my work I strive to leave the storytelling to the design.
Artistic Background
Art
Fascinated both by the digital and analogue art, my portfolio includes photos of physical (paintings, drawings) as well as digital artworks (illustrations, vector graphics) – and at times a combination of the two. Instead of constraining myself to one medium, I like to try out new media and techniques to put ideas to paper or canvas. As is the case for my educational interests, I am passionate about the variety of possibilities in the visual arts regarding creative expression and individuality. I draw inspiration from nature, my travels as well as mythology and tend to a (hyper)realistic style.
Photography
In 2017 I became a contributor of stock photography, by now having portfolios on Alamy, Dreamstime, Depositphotos and Adobe Stock (not anymore on Shutterstock). Besides some product photography and a lot more travel photography, my motifs include flower close-ups, landscapes, animals, and other beauties nature has to offer.
